Meet Meirav Zur, a creative arts professional with a passion for comedy and improvisation. In 2005 she founded an English-language professional theater in Israel, subsequently producing, writing, directing, and performing in numerous original stage productions for all ages for over 15 years. Today, she is based in Los Angeles as a freelance actor, producer, and writer, as well as currently performing her award-winning infertility comedy show, Inconceivable (The Totally True One-Woman Semi-Fertile Quasi-"Musical").
What is your company and what do you do?
My main professional focus currently is my solo show Inconceivable, which I wrote and still perform. It is an autobiographical comedy about infertility, and serves as an important tool for entertainment, advocacy, and even an odd form of therapy. I believe there is a need for more people to see this show as it is relevant for everyone, so besides being the actor, writer, and producer, I am also heading marketing and publicity, among other aspects of production.
How do you start your morning? Give us a play by play-- time you get up, 3-5 things you do to start your day.
I usually start my day around 6:30, and pretty much first thing is breakfast. Once snack-prep and school drop-off is complete, I like to do some light stretches and core work, then get to work on whatever I need most focus on that day (writing, rehearsals, emailing, meetings, etc.).
What advice do you have for other female entrepreneurs looking to create healthier and invigorating morning routines and habits?
Do whatever works for you! Try out different things that seem doable for you and your lifestyle, and see what makes you happy. Each person is different and will have different routines. And "breaking" from the routine is not a bad thing.
What are some of your favorite leisure activities?
Drawing, walking in nature, going to the beach, watching good movies.
Share a favorite affirmation that other female entrepreneurs could benefit from.
"Yes And!" (It's a foundation principal from improvisation, meaning to accept whatever is presented to you, go with its flow (YES), AND add something of your own to keep moving forward).
