Meet Taylor Rose, CEO of XIVI, a gender fluid apparel company created for comfort and sustainably through limited edition collections for everyday wear. Her journey began at the age 15, where she was working her first job at Nordstroms that led her to FIDM, The Fashion Institute Of Design And Merchandising. As she dedicated her time and future to fashion, she kept in mind words from her dad, "10,000 hours of practice will make you a professional". Predominantly learning about womenswear in school, she decided to take the road less traveled and challenge herself by stepping into the mens industry. The pandemic offered an opportunity of time to create her own brand, where she could prioritize pillars that were most important to her; sustainability, versatility, luxury and comfort.
What is your company and what do you do?
XIVI sells sustainable, gender fluid leisurewear made in LA. Our products are created with different Eucalyptus and Cotton Blend variations that make all styles comfortable.
How do you start your morning? Give us a play by play-- time you get up, 3-5 things you do to start your day.
I start my day at 7:30 am everyday. First thing I do is take my 2 dogs on a 3 mile run or walk, make a pot of french pressed coffee, tidy up the house if needed, jump in the shower and then head to the office or to meetings.
What advice do you have for other female entrepreneurs looking to create healthier and invigorating morning routines and habits?
To all the female entrepreneurs out there, my advice would be to find a routine that works for you! Do something for yourself first thing whether it is a morning walk, meditating, that first cup of coffee or even a soul cycle class. The rest of the day you will be focusing on your business and it's important to remember we need to make time for ourselves and doing what allows us to work hard and stay motivated the rest of the day.
What are some of your favorite leisure activities?
Curling up with my puppies, a business book (I love learning), a funny movie, or a meditation!
Share a favorite affirmation that other female entrepreneurs could benefit from?
I would say changing the way you think to a more positive thinking/mindset can help you overcome anything.
